The European WEEE (Waste of Electrical & Electronic Equipment) Directive has 3 main objectives, they are:
- The prevention of waste from electronic and electrical equipment
- The re-use, recycling and other forms of recovery of such wastes
- Minimising the risks and impact to the environment associated with the treatment and disposal of end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment
With the WEEE Legislation finally implemented within the UK, now is the time to decide how and what we do with our electronic and electrical waste product.
SEPA insist that recycling facilities such as ourselves have under-gone a thorough site inspection and interview process before being certified with an Approved Authroised Treatment Facility (AATF) Licence. This is to ensure WEEE is being treated correctly and to the standards set throughout the industry. Click Here to view our AATF Licence.
This certificate is almost a prerequisite for any business thinking of sub-contacting a recycler for the disposal of their Electrical/Electronic Waste.
The WEEE Legislation includes many electrical appliances as well as IT equipment
